Launching BEAMS BOY SS26 at R.Place

Introducing the new BEAMS BOY SS26 Collection to R.Place

This is always a highlight of our season and a particular guilty pleasure of mine… I have collected pieces of BEAMS BOY over the years and still consider them my most worn items that I have in my wardrobe.

BEAMS BOY is part of the Japanese fashion powerhouse BEAMS and was launched in 1998 to bring womenswear into the brand portfolio. It has the same attention to details, exquisite tailoring and fabrication that extends to all of the Beams brands and what I particularly love about it is the individual personality of each piece which are timeless, versatile and interchangeable within my wardrobe.  As we increasingly move towards a less is more model of shopping these qualities are absolutely key to my decision making.

I have an old BEAMS BOY crochet vest that I bought about 8 years ago now and I still wear it all the time, it’s one of my most favourite items in my wardrobe and every time I wear it people ask where it’s from. Cost per wear, this is definitely paying me back now and has been for several years.  Each season I add to my collection of individual pieces and this season it’s been hard as there are SO many good ones to choose from - here are my top pics which I believe will sit perfectly within my wardrobe.

The ‘Gather Sleeveless Shirt’ - this comes in White, Navy and Dusty Pink - all really good colours, I’m torn between the Navy and Pink, currently I’m layering this with a Lucy long sleeve in either white or black but I can’t wait to put it on over a tee or tank once the weather warms up. It’s SO feminine and just adds a playful twist to any outfit, wear it with 2 bows, one or just undone like a waistcoat.

The Side Ribbon Red Cross Vest - This is an update on a similar tie side vest they brought out for AW a couple of seasons ago, such a simple design and this time it’s in easy knitted cotton with ribbon ties at the sides, one size and you can either wear it with the V neck at the from and the shorter side at the back or vice versa. Again, great over a tee, shirt or tank and such a simple way to add another layer of interest to any outfit. I’m loving the pale grey/blue marl colour way - great with denim, I especially love it with my YMC Deadbeats.

The Black Jacquard Blouse - soft, knitted cotton with little cream buttons down the front, a gorgeous frill collar and cuffs and sleeves to the elbows which is always such a good length. I love that this has a dropped hem at the back and a raw edge so that it slightly curls up, it’s SO feminine and can be worn so simply with denim or elevated with tailored trousers and or a midi skirt for a smarter look. It also looks great with the Ribbon vest.

Finally, there’s the Blue Denim Coverall Jacket- a soft, mid blue, washed denim which they’ve based on an old Vintage style. It’s such a great, oversized shape, will go with everything and add a touch of understated cool… I think it’ll come into it’s own in the summer over shorts and dresses with lovely bronzed arms and legs - just the perfect summer jacket!

I’ve also done a short video showing how each piece fits, how they can be worn and layered together and also on sizing. BEAMS BOY do tend to only have a couple of size options or are just One Size which feels like it shouldn’t work but it somehow always does!

We feel so privileged to have this amazing brand in our portfolio, it makes what we do really mean something, and they’re a total pleasure to work with.

This is what the fashion industry should be all about in my opinion!
