Twice a year Roo and Joe get the opportunity to swap Porth for Paris for a few days of seasonal buying - this time round was looking ahead to Spring Summer 2026.
Here is a sneak peek into their Paris Diary…A three day strike mission of 16 brands meant that we had to hit the ground running…
Day 1 consisted of two new brands and a firm favourite of ours (if we’re being really bias) You Must Create, otherwise known as YMC.
The YMC collection was incredible; bold colours, beautiful fabrics and new shapes throughout both the Womens and Mens collections. We left the showroom in agreement that it was the best collection we’ve ever seen from them!
Day 2 started on the fringes of the bustling Marai area with Pilgrim Surf + Supply for Mens, and then a quick pop downstairs to see Japanese masters of design - Beams Boy. The level of detail that goes into both of these collections is out of this world; the meticulous attention to fabric, production and shape is something like no other. Both collections had bold and playful colour stories throughout, with a handful of stand out “must have” pieces to add onto the order forms.
A quick Lime bike across the city brought us to Welcome Edition - a multi brand, large showroom, hosting not far off 100 brands under one roof. This is always a space you need to designate a lot of concentration too. We went with a firm plan and appointment times which kept us in check for the afternoon - visiting Service Works, Jackman Japan and Girls of Dust to name a few. Thankfully Welcome Edition was kitted out for the intense heat of Day 2 with numerous fridges loaded with beers and water and their coffee guy on the ground floor keeping everyone buzzing.
The last appointment of the day was a new brand for Menswear - someone that Joe has been personally coverting for over 10 years and one that has always been on a “dream list” for the store. We won’t give much away, but expect the best jeans you’ve ever seen, alongside a host of Menswear classics that will swiftly become wardrobe heroes.
Hitting the rails from March onwards, keep those eyes peeled…
Having seen 7 brands on Day 2 we were cooked - the weather was warm so we made yet another important decision; to stop off for a cold vodka and tonic!
Roo being the foodie booked us into an amazing restaurant called ‘Recoin’ which we highly recommend if you’re ever looking for a place to eat out Paris, but it’s no secret so booking is a must!
The final day was a busy one for menswear - viewing 5 brand collections almost before midday. The main report back from these appointments? Great shirts!!
It was nice for so many brands to be confident with print and colour for Spring Summer ’26. We’re such a colour-lead store that it’s always refreshing for brands to be adventurous, especially in the warmer months. Plenty of very “R.Place” pieces to come!
It’s always inspiring to be in Paris during fashion week, and gets us super excited about whats to come next for R.Place…
Next stop on the buying trail…… London!
